Mountain Sophisticated

Design Vision by Whitney Mayer and Catherine Von Canon

Whitney and Catherine worked closely with these clients to reinvent a living room space that embodies a modern farmhouse style, enriched with sophisticated metallic finishes and sculptural details. The goal was to maintain a calm, polished aesthetic that would also provide a comfortable gathering space for family and friends. The living room transformation included a curated blend of stock and custom furnishings. Allowing for lots of input from the clients, the design vision was tailored to the specific needs of their household, combining practicality with cozy sophistication. The result was a beautifully serene and comfortable space with an elevated farmhouse feel.

Design Elements

In-Stock Furnishings: A Rowe sofa, crafted in Virginia and known for its emphasis on sustainability, durability, and comfort, was chosen from in-stock items to serve as the central seating arrangement. This was paired with an in-stock metallic coffee table, adding a touch of quiet luxury.

Custom Additions: To enhance the design, jewel-toned navy velvet chairs and a soft, textured rug were custom ordered, providing a splash of color and elegance to the neutral palette. Whitney and Catherine also helped select a sleek leather chair, complimentary accent tables, and accessories to tie the space together.

Color Palette and Textures: Core neutral colors of white and grey were warmed up with the introduction of leather elements and warm-toned wood accessories. Soft, cozy textures were added to balance the cooler tones of the base palette, creating an inviting and harmonious space.

This project showcases Atelier Maison & Co.’s commitment to thoughtful, client-driven design, demonstrating how a strategic mix of elements can transform a living space into a modern farmhouse retreat that is both stylish and functional.
