Whitney graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where she earned a B.S. in Interior Design. She then worked for Postcard from Paris/Linda McDougald Design, in Greenville, SC until a sense of adventure called her to Bainbridge Island, WA. While in the Pacific Northwest, Whitney worked as a designer for Furnish Bainbridge until launching her own interior design business, Swan Studio Interiors. The desire to help her clients in a deeper way led her to study traditional Chinese Feng Shui at Golden Gate Feng Shui School in Oakland, CA. She continues to study and practice, integrating Feng Shui principles into her design work. A lifelong dancer, she also taught ballet at Bainbridge Dance Center and performed in musical theater productions with Bainbridge Performing Arts. The Summer of 2020 brought Whitney happily back home to the Carolinas! She currently resides in beautiful Asheville, NC, where she continues to dance and teach. Whitney has been an interior designer with Atelier Maison since the summer of 2022, where she enjoys blending her love of old world antiques with clean, modern lines and a fresh, elegant aesthetic.
